
The Manitowish Waters, Wisconsin, area is one of Wisconsin's
best retreats from the hustle and bustle of city life. The 10
lake Manitowish Chain offers incredible fishing, water
sports and beautiful beach areas.
For winter enthusiasts, scenic
trail #8 runs right through town, next to the Pea Patch, and
offers access to some of the best trails in the United States.
Downhill ski trails are just a 1/2 hour drive away, and the many
trails in the area will keep even the most dedicated cross
country skier busy. Snowmobile rentals area available in the
area, as are boat and water sport equipment rentals in the
summer.
The
Manitowish Waters area is also known for cranberry production,
featuring about 600 acres of cranberry marshes in an area around
Little Trout Lake. Free cranberry marsh tours are available in
the summer. The fall harvest, when the marshes are flooding and
cranberries are collected, is always a great attraction... even
for those a little more adventurous than others!
